My lovely and oh-so talented friends, Rebekah and Stephen Opperman live in a killer loft along the outskirts of downtown LA. They have recently launched, The Inheritance Collection, a furniture line entirely designed and produced locally in Los Angeles. The line is inspired by industrial and military aesthetics with a nod to mid-century modernism. But, the real reason I wished to feature them is their exquisite taste in home decor. A few weeks ago my photographer and friend, Jeanie Francis and I headed downtown to shoot the Opperman's gorgeous home. I hope you will be as inspired as we are. This is the first Willam and Penny 'This Space' Original.

We LOVE their bathroom wallpaper: repurposed player piano roll
They used industrial pipes and screws to create towel bars and shelves
They made these lampshades out of military wind socks, so unique!
They put in these amazing antique laboratory doors to create a divide within the loft
All of these featured couches and chairs are created by Stephen himself and some are apart of The Inheritance Collection
Now, my favorite part about their loft is their rear entrance turned coffee shop. They have kindly opened what they call The Back Door Coffee Club for friends and neighbors to enjoy the finest beans in town, for donation only. Here you can enjoy a pour over cup of Handsome Coffee open in the early hours of monday thru friday.
They created these lights from old laboratory synths
Thanks to Rebekah and Steve for letting us come and post about their beautiful home sweet home.
